Redwall’s Theme Song Brought Back to Life

Redwall, the cherished book series by British author Brian Jacques, made its way onto television screens in the late 1990s with an animated TV series adaptation. Set in a medieval fantasy world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, the show captivated viewers with its epic adventures and timeless themes of heroism, friendship, and the eternal battle between good and evil.

Unlike the lengthy tenure of the book series, the cartoon adaptation only lasted 3 seasons, running from 1999-2002, leaving fans wanting for more from the enchanting world of Redwall Abbey.

In 2021, Netflix announced it had acquired to the rights to write and release a Redwall feature film, setting off a flurry of excitement. But sadly, progress following that announcement seems to have stalled, or halted for the time-being.

Yet, for fans of the franchises who crave that nostalgia, there’s a glimmer of hope. Andrew P. Oliver just released a new rendition of the iconic theme song from Redwall’s animated TV series. The Redwall-inspired theme song, which had never before been released on streaming platforms, can now be enjoyed by fans old and new—transporting them back to that Saturday morning, cartoon feeling.

So while the future of Redwall on screen remains uncertain, the enchanting world of the Redwall books and animated series continues to live on in the hearts of its dedicated fans—and today, in a new saga-inspired song.
